Bellingham IONS May Event

I AM
(a must see movie!)

by Tom Shadyac, a successful Hollywood director

"We started by asking what is wrong with the world and ended up
discovering what is right with it!" Tom Shadyac

"With a film crew of four, Tom Shadyac visits some of today's great minds including authors, poets, teachers, religious leaders and scientists (Norm Chomsky, Desmond Tutu, Howard Zinn, Lynn McTaggart, Thom Hartmann, as well as Dean Radin and Marilyn Schlitz from IONS) searching for the fundamental endemic problem that causes all the other problems, while simultaneously reflecting on his own life choices of excess, greed and eventual healing."

On a more personal level, I AM is about Tom Shadyac's transformation. He almost took his own life after accumulating many awards, opulent homes and millions of dollars.  Eventually he gave up his excessive lifestyle and moved into a mobile home park in the Los Angeles area where he made this movie about how we all affect and are affected by one another whether we deny this or not. It is another wake up call for all of us to get back in touch with what really matters.

"I AM is a spark of light and a work of love" Marianne Williamson
