Our presenter, David, will engage you in exploring the evolution
of consciousness as described in the Spiral Dynamics model and in gaining an
understanding of the ways in which conscious, evolutionary parenting results in
the evolution of consciousness in our species.
One hundred years ago Rudolf Steiner, Sri Aurobindo Ghose, and
Hazrat Inayat Khan described the same 'common vision' for the unfoldment of
consciousness in children and teens. Spiral Dynamics provides the map for the
stages of this unfoldment of consciousness in homo sapiens. The 'common
vision' of these three sages provides both an orientation to conscious,
evolutionary parenting and specific insights to guide parents in nurturing
their children in ways that invite the unfoldment of each child's potential, so
that even by age 21, young adults can be centered in integral consciousness.
The key to evolutionary parenting is the recognition of each
child's soul as her/his "inner teacher."

David is the author of Evolutionary Parenting (2016) and The
Common Vision: Parenting and Educating for Wholeness (1997, 2016). David is
the founding president of The SelfDesign Graduate Institute, a low-residency,
online Master of Arts in SelfDesign program with offices in Bellingham and learners
and faculty all over the world.
